Primary Care Doctor Consultation

If you are eligible to enrol in the Programme, you may approach a Primary Care Doctor (PCD) to take part in the Programme. Click here to search for the list of doctors enrolled in the Programme. Enrolled PCD will display the programme logo at the entrance of the clinic for easy recognition by participants.

When you are at the clinic, you should present a valid HKIC and insert the HKIC into the card reader for the retrieval of your profile from the eHRSS. Alternatively, if you are issued a Certificate of Exemption, you should present the original copy to the PCD to enrol into the Programme.

You may expect the PCD to go through the following procedures with you:

  1. Enrolment into the Programme
  2. Assessing medical fitness for screening
  3. Providing advice on screening
  4. Issuing of FOBT tubes contained within the Participant’s Pack

Enrolment into the Programme

If you are new to the Programme, you will be asked to complete and sign a Participant Consent Form. You should read carefully the sections on “Undertaking and Declarations” of the form before signing.

You may be asked for the consent to share your clinical information kept in the eHRSS with the PCD as there is need for the PCD to view the information for providing the medical consultation on colorectal cancer screening.

You will also be asked by the PCD to indicate whether you are willing to be approached by academic institutions to consider taking part in cancer-related research. Participation is on a voluntary basis.
