Receiving the Participant's Pack

Your PCD will provide you with a Participant’s Pack which includes:

  1. Two FOBT tubes
  2. Two small plastic bags
  3. One instruction sheet for specimen collection
  4. One large plastic bag with the laboratory request form attached
  5. One Participant Guidebook
Cue Card

You should:

  1. Check and agree with your PCD on how you will be contacted especially for communicating an abnormal FOBT result.
  2. Collect stool specimens within 8 weeks of the date of issue of the Participant’s Pack and return them together to a Specimen Collection Point.
  3. Finish collection of stool specimens within 4 days counting from the day of first stool specimen collection and return both specimens to a designated Specimen Collection Point as soon as possible.
  4. Still return specimen to a designated Specimen Collection Point, whether or not you are able to finish two stool specimen collections within 4 days counting from the day of first stool specimen collection.
  5. Contact your PCD if:
    1. you have queries about stool specimen collection; or
    2. the original FOBT tubes are lost or damaged so that the PCD may re-issue another two FOBT tubes to you without extra charges.
  6. Note that, if the original FOBT tubes are rejected by laboratory for analysis, the PCD will contact you to issue another two FOBT tubes without extra charges.
