Colorectal cancer in Hong Kong
- Colorectal cancer is one of the commonest cancers in Hong Kong. In 2022, there were 5,190 newly registered cases, more than 90% of which occurred in patients 50 years of age or older.
- In 2022, 2,928 new cases occurred in males and 2,262 new cases occurred in females. The ratio of the number of male patients to that of female patients was 1.3 : 1.
- Of all fatal cancers in Hong Kong, colorectal cancer is ranked second. In 2022, a total number of 2,270 people died of the cancer.
